Nueces County commissioners have joined other local officials in opposing a possible rate hike by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
Commissioners passed a resolution Wednesday morning echoing the message from a rally held Monday: No rate hike.
A TWIA committee meets in Austin to discuss whether they'll recommend a 5-10 percent rate increase to the full board.
That board voted against the increase during its last meeting in August.
County commissioners, area chambers of commerce and other elected officials say TWIA is not being transparent about the possible rate hike.
TWIA says it has actively sought the public's input, and invites anyone to attend tomorrow's meeting in Austin.
