CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city is moving forward on a project to do something about chronic flooding on Laguna Shores Road.
Because it's pretty much at sea level, that road that runs along the Laguna Madre is pretty susceptible to flooding.
High tide is enough to send water onto the road.
Today, the city council awarded a contract to reconstruct two segments of the road.
The affected areas are Laguna Shores from SPID to Graham Road and from Mediterranean to Wyndale.
Work is expected to begin next summer and should be done in February 2022.
