CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens has canceled classes and events but are staying open for visitors who practice social distancing.
"Our staff is so disappointed!" the gardens posted, "But our first concern is health, safety & welfare of our visitors and employees, so we're doing our best to align with CDC, municipal, county guidelines and limitations."
They had to cancel their regular classes and the upcoming Big Bloom and the Birdiest Festival in America.
"Just too much risk with that many people together, even though outdoors. We apologize for this inconvenience," they posted.
Visitors are still welcome in as long as they keep their distance from other patrons; the CDC recommended 6 feet.
"On a daily basis, there's plenty of room to come out, get some sunshine, fresh air, and spread out while walking, admiring the scenery--flora & fauna, having a picnic, enjoying our great outdoors," they posted.
CC Botanical Gardens is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, located at 8545 S Staples St Corpus Christi, Texas 78413.
Fortunately, we are OPEN as usual for guests, 9-6 DAILY. But today, we had to CANCEL both BIG BLOOM, and BIRDIEST...
