The Beautify Blucher Park committee is coming together with the sole purpose of revitalizing the park and the surrounding area.
"tThe committee will be made up of different organizations such as the Audubon Society, Beautify Corpus Christi and some others that we are going to bring together to discuss the vision of Blucher Park," said Corpus Christi Councilwoman-at-large Paulette Guajardo.
The committee is meeting once a month to bring new ideas about how to make the park a staple of Corpus Christi once again. There will be a lot of input from different voices in the community.
The committee will include representatives from Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation, Youth Odyssey, and a guest speaker from the nonprofit organization, American Conservation Experience.
"They are a group that helps communities either revitalize, conserve or even bring back an area from say a wildfire or some sort of disaster," Guajardo said.
Reviving Blucher Park is just the beginning. Beautify Blucher Park hopes its efforts will set a positive example for the surrounding area, and once again make one of the state's birdiest parks a destination point for people from all over.
"If we truly enhance it the way it should be and we conserve it the way it should be conserved, then it is going to be nothing but a plus and it is going to bring some economic impact to our city," Guajardo said.
