CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Corpus Christi wants to pay your gas bill. Every year, the city’s gas department partners with the Nueces County Department of Social Services for ‘Operation Heat Help’.

This annual service helps community members in-need, who do not have the means to keep their homes warm and comfortable as cooler weather hits the Coastal Bend. With an approved application, residents can get the gas portion of their utility bill covered by the city.

Utility bills that qualify have to be between November 2020 and March 2021. Those who qualify can receive up to $100 for their household.

Applications will be accepted December 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021. To apply, the city says you need to have your utility bill, a valid form of ID, proof of household income including child-support, TANF and SSI for the past 30 days and copies of checks and award letters relating from other family resources.

You can apply on their website. If you need help filling out your application, you can call (361) 888-0837. You can find information about last year's 'Operation Heat Help' here.
