CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — At the Whitecap Beach, City of Corpus Christi Beach Operations stopped by to open barriers so that way visitors can park on the beach.

On July 15th, the Texas General Land Office allowed the city/county to extend beach county orders until early August.

Corpus Christi city leaders believed the vehicle ban has helped bring coronavirus case numbers down so it was extended again and Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales announced how she will not extend the order a third time.

“The damage that was done to our coastal park is severe. The corrosion to the dune line and to our beach is almost hurtful. and quite frankly mother nature does take its course in these types of events,” said Judge Canales.

However, some folks may still find some challenges parking on the beach due to the destruction Hurricane Hanna left behind.

A few access roads are closed as City of Corpus Christi crews continue their clean up efforts.

Remember, the beach curfew from 9 pm - 6 am will still remain within effect until further notice.
