CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. — People who live in a neighborhood on Padre Island said it sounded like fireworks were going off in their area this morning.

"I thought they were gunshots, but then I was like no, they were probably fireworks because I've been hearing fireworks all week," said Michael Terrazas, one neighbor.

It turns out, it was actually a shoot-out.

No arrests have been made, but police know where the shoot-out happened. They say the people in the home were not being cooperative during the investigation.

The shooting incident happened at around 2 a.m. on the 15000 block of Dyna Street, however, residents on Vincent Drive -- which is about a block away -- said several bullets went through their windows.

"They knew they were gun shots and they got up as soon as they heard it," Terrazas said. "Apparently two shots went into the bedroom where they were sleeping."

The home owners said that, thankfully, no one was hurt. The house that suffered damage belongs to Terrazas' neighbors, who didn't want to be interviewed on-camera.

Now, that family and the rest of the neighborhood are counting their blessings that everyone is okay.

"(I'm) just very concerned," said Kevin MacDonald, another neighbor. "Stray bullets ringing through somebody's house like that in the early hours of the morning is very concerning. And we just thank God no one was hurt."
