CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — For a lot of local families, it's been a struggle to put food on the table.
And thanks to a sizable donation this morning, the Coastal Bend Food Bank will be able to help out those families in need.
ABC Homes and Commercial Services presented the food bank with a check for just more than $7,000.
The pest control company had pledged to donate $20 from every new account they opened.
The statewide campaign raised more than $82,000.
"So this check represents out portion and is going to help us access more food and take it to the communities right now that are in such need,"said Bea Hanson, executive director of the Coastal Bend Food Bank.
According to the food bank, it takes a lot of volunteers to distribute that food and right now the food bank is in short supply.
They desperately need volunteers for their food distribution events so if you'd like to help them out give them a call.
