CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — After months of planning, the Ayers Street project will be kicking off on Tuesday.
That project will reconstruct and widen the existing four-lane road and turn it into five lanes with a turn lane.
ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks also will be added.
The sidewalks will extend all the way to the RTA bus stop at the Port/Ayers Shopping Center.
The first phase of the project will require several lane closures along Ayers from South Padre Island Drive all the way to Gollihar
