CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A tourist from Arizona found herself in need of rescuing after she went for a walk near the U.S.S. Lexington this afternoon.
The woman was with family and friends walking toward the end of the jetty when she slipped and fell into the water.
She was able to climb out but because of the slippery conditions, she couldn't climb back onto the walkway.
Firefighters had to use a ladder to help her climb back out.
“We were just walking out to see end of the jetty and to see there were any turtles and stuff," the woman said. "I don’t think I'm going back out there though, ha, ha, ha.”
The woman had some scrapes and bruises and she says she's a bit sore from her fall.
Fortunately, she didn’t require treatment at the hospital.
