CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Yesterday was a milestone day for Peter Zanoni, his 100th as Corpus Christi's new city manager.

Has the job lived up to his expectations?

That’s just one of the questions that KRIS 6 News asked him during a recent interview.

Zanoni says Corpus Christi has exceeded his expectations.

Our new city manager hit the ground running when he started the job in May.

He’s already started re-shaping city hall to make operations there more efficient. And he proposed a balance budget within the city's tax structure.

When we spoke this morning, Zanoni praised the mayor and city council. But he says he's most impressed by the people.

You’ll hear more from Zanoni coming up this evening... on KRIS 6 News.

Mayor Joe McComb recently told KRIS 6 News that Zanoni's work so far has proved the council hired the right candidate.
