AUSTIN, Texas — Three local state legislators have been appointed to oversight boards that will make recommendations for future legislation on the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
The appointments were made by Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen.
State Reps. Abel Herrero (D-Robstown) and J.M. Lozano (R-Kingsville) have been appointed to the Windstorm Insurance Legislative Oversight Board.
And Todd Hunter (R-Corpus Christi) has been appointed to the Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board.
“We look forward to working with the members appointed by Speaker Bonnen to these two oversight boards as they develop recommendations regarding the operations, funding, and sustainability of the Association,” said John Polak, general manager of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
The lieutenant governor will also appoint four members of the Texas Senate to each of the two oversight boards.
