Corpus Christi police officers noticed a possible stolen vehicle and when they tried to pull the SUV over, a chase ensued.

The incident happened along Port Avenue just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

According to Lieutenant Phillip Bintliff, a Corpus Christi police officer for over 19 years, said officers attempted to pull over the vehicle but it gave chase.

Officers then started to pursue the stolen SUV but called off the chase once unsafe speeds were reached.

A short time later, Lt. Bintliff said officers spotted the SUV in the 2700 block of Port Avenue. The vehicle had crashed.

Bintliff said additional officers were called in to set up a perimeter in a westside neighborhood. Eventually, a man along with a minor were arrested.

Police are still searching for another minor who was able to flee the scene.
