
A Corpus Christi police officer said he had to pull over a car after it almost hit his marked unit. When he pulled the vehicle over, the officer discovered a possible drug dealing operation.
The incident happened near the intersection of Port Avenue and Tarlton Road around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to Lieutenant Edward Longoria, with the Corpus Christi police department, the officer noticed marijuana inside the vehicle. After a search, officers discovered crack cocaine, a gun, and a large amount of cash inside the vehicle.
Also inside the vehicle, a six-year-old child. The child was later handed over to the suspect’s grandparents at the scene inside a convenience store parking lot.
Lt. Longoria said a 27-year-old male suspect, along with a 30-year-old female suspect, face felony charges.
Officers didn’t disclose how much cash was discovered inside the vehicle.
