Since October, dockless scooters have come to Corpus Christi and large numbers and now the city wants feedback from the public.

The six question survey is meant to gauge the public on their thoughts on the scooters. The survey is the first step in public engagement.

“On January 8th we will be presenting a pilot program to city council and so during that pilot it will give us an opportunity to engage further with the public and to model any regulations after,” Arlene Medrano, the business liaison to the City Manager said.

Medrano says that one they begin the pilot program, they will be able to fully hear concerns of the public as well as begin to implement any necessary regulations.

But for now, do not expect any reduction in scooter numbers around the city.

“No other Texas city or major city placed a limit on the quantity during the pilot so that is not something staff would be recommending at this time,” Medrano said.
