A recent renovation at a local McDonald’s has brought some high-tech changes.

The ‘Experience the Future’ McDonald’s at 3745 South Staples Street is the first if its kind in Corpus Christi, according to owner Ed Lutito.

Updated features at the restaurant include in incorporation of Uber Eats and Mobile Order Pay, as well as digital order kiosks, digital menu boards inside and out, and even touch to play games.

“It’s basically everything coming together in one location,” Lutito said. “That’s what we’re really excited about.”

New improvements at the restaurant are designed to improve efficiency and give the customer more ordering options, Lutito said.

“You can order at home on your phone, you can order at the kiosk, you can wait in line or visit our drive-thru,” Lutito said. “It’s more convenience for the customer.”

For those who aren’t technologically inclined, but still want to check out the new features, a McDonald’s Guest Experience Leader will be available in the restaurant to help customers use the kiosks or order from their phone.

The changes aren’t all digital touch screens. Lutito says they’ve also made improvements in the kitchen to make food preparation quicker, and have even added a second drive-thru.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 5 and will feature food specials, character visits and prizes. Lutito says the first 50 customers in line will get free Big Macs for a year and the second 50 will get free French fries for a year.

Come Experience the Future at McDonald's. Now Showing: January 5, 2019. See you there!
