One person is in jail this morning after attempting steal money by forcing a man to withdraw money from his bank account.

According to Corpus Christi Police, at about 8:30 a.m. a 60-year-old man walked into the Navy Army Credit Union on the 4800 block of the Crosstown Expressway and handed the teller a note asking to call the police.

The victim explained that a man had driven him to the credit union and then sent him in to withdraw money.

CCPD arrived at the scene and arrested the 42-year-old suspect who was still waiting in the parking lot.

CCPD’s Capt. Anthony Sanders says the man could face several charges.

“It could be theft, but depending on the extenuating circumstances, it could be something that’s enhanced,” Sanders said. “If we figure out during the investigation that there was some sort of force or threat or coercion, then the charges could be changed into something different.”

Police say the victim was not hurt in the incidents, but he and the suspect did know each other.
