Another group is stepping up to help former Brightwood College students.

Locally owned and operated, Texas EMS Academy is offering a 15 percent discount to anyone affected by the closure of Brightwood College.

Texas EMS Academy offers a 14-day fast track program or a 30-day program to be a nationally certified-EMT.

As we’ve reported, last Wednesday the school closed its doors leaving students without very many answers or options.

Today, the owner of Texas EMS Academy says he’s from here and wants to give back to his community.

Rey Rabagos, owner and program director said “But what we want is to not let them be discouraged to become involved in the medical field. The medical field needs all these students, not only in paramedic or EMT or nursing but the medical field is in demand especially with EMTs.

Rabagos says their next class begins in January.
