Rain or shine many volunteers came together for ‘Playground Build Day’

Several volunteers made their way to Dolphin Park with tools in hand and ready to build a state of the art playground.

Since North Beach was considered a disaster recovery area, the North Beach Community Association was able to team up with the City of the Corpus Christi and the Rebuild Texas Fund to have a national nonprofit known as Kaboom to come out for Playground Build Day.

This required community involvement and the goal was to have more than one hundred volunteers. However, only about eighty volunteers were able to come help. This included folks from out of town North Beach residents and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander girls soccer team.

Many North Beach Community Association leaders are calling the weather a blessing in disguise because workers with the Harbor Bridge got rained out. The bad weather caused these workers not to perform their duties.

But instead of these 30 men going home, these guys came to Dolphin Park to help volunteer.
