With the holiday season approaching and more shopping taking place online, the Better Business Bureau urges consumers to be on the alert as they make their seasonal purchases.
Kelly Trevino of the Corpus Christi Better Business Bureau provides some holiday shopping tips to make sure the gifts that are ordered end up under the proper Christmas tree.
“You need to be careful,” Trevino said. “Last year, this is one of the riskiest scams that happened. People were buying everything from pets to automobiles. A lot of money was lost.”
Among the specific tips that Trevino urges are the following:
- Check site security
- Shop with a credit card
- Keep documentation
- Request a signature
