Video has been released of a man wanted for allegedly robbing, kidnapping and tying up a store clerk earlier  this week.

The video shows the suspect walk into the Murphy’s Express on Saratoga Boulevard near Airline Road Monday morning and starting a conversation with the store clerk.

“Ma’am, if I tell you my night has been (inaudible) would you believe me?” the man asked the clerk. “Car broke down, girlfriend kicked me out.”

Investigators say the man eventually made his way behind the counter, pulled a knife on the clerk and demanded money from the safe. He then kidnapped the woman, tied her up and left her at a nearby apartment complex on McArdle Road.

The woman was able to free herself and call for help.
