Our recent rain has forced one event to move to a new location.

The Back to Business Recovery Concert and Carnival was supposed to be held at the Aransas Pass festival grounds next weekend. Today, Coastal Bend United announced the area is soggy. So, the event will move to Whataburger Field parking lot.

Corpus Christi Hooks General Manager Wes Weigle said they didn’t have any special events scheduled next weekend and they’re honored to host it.

“The Corpus Christi Hooks and the Houston Astros are excited to partner with Coastal Bend United and the Chambers from Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Port A, Portland and United Corpus Christi to host this event here,” Weigle said, “We’re excited to give back, support the Hurricane Harvey ongoing efforts and do our part to give back to the community and businesses in the area”

All the money raised will go to business owners who are trying to recover from Hurricane Harvey.

Live entertainment begins on Friday night at 6 p.m. with the Rotel & the Hot Tomatoes; 8 p.m. The Last Bandoleros and 10 p.m. Derek Spence “A George Strait Tribute Band.” Saturday’s live entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with the Marcos Orozco Y Extremo: 8 p.m. Los Palominos and 10 p.m. La Mafia.

The carnival will be free.

Included in the event is Food Truck Alley. Attendees will have a variety of food choices from some of the finest food trucks in the area along with an area for vendors of sorts. A special commemorative T-Shirt will also be available for purchase.
