More than a year after Hurricane Harvey damaged one local restaurant, the owner has announced a re-opening date.
Island Italian on Padre Island is set to open November 5.
Owner Tony Tagliaferro says he grew up working in the restaurant’s kitchen when his father owned it, but had to shut down due to damage left from Hurricane Harvey.
Island Italian has been in business on Padre Island for about 31 years, making it one of the oldest restaurants on the Island.
