Another heavy band of rained passed through the area last night leaving water standing on area roads.

Most water has receded from roadways in the city limits, but there are still some areas with standing water, such as Staples Street going toward Crosstown. We saw several vehicles speeding in this area when coming up to standing water. Staples near Oso Creek also has standing water. The creek is expected to continue to rise throughout the morning.

Another flooded area this morning was residential roads near McArdle and Weber.

Water began to recede shortly after the heavy rains stopped falling.

The Corpus Christi Independent School district says they are on a regular schedule today as the major roadways have cleared. Busses are on a normal schedule, but there may be a few minor delays, according to CCISD.

Drive Texas is reporting that 286 near Chapman Ranch is closed due to flooding.

As always, use your best judgement and do not try to drive through standing water.
