Thanks to the hard work of our community, thousands of Coastal Bend students will start their first day of school with all the supplies they need.

Stephanie Russell, Communications Director with the United Way of the Coastal Bend said “If they start the first day of their school with everything they need, they can really hit the ground running and do well.”

Today, school districts like West Oso ISD and Bishop ISD picked up their supplies.

This year has been even more of a struggle for some after families were displaced by Hurricane Harvey but through help from United Way, H-E-B, KRIS-TV and you, students will have all the tools they need to succeed.

Russell added, “It shows support for the future leaders of our community. So we make sure they have all the tools they need to be successful and to achieve all of their goals for the school year.”
