CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — City council approved the budget for crime fighting efforts in Corpus Christi.

The city gave the O.K. to a $7.5 million budget for the crime control and prevention district.

That money will pay for 63 officers and their equipment and fund three replacement vehicles.

It will also buy additional rifles, tactical lights for weapons and also help fund an "in-car" video system.
