CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An employee at the U.S.S. Lexington Museum has tested positive for COVID-19.

The museum reports the staff member tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday and is a member of the operations department that works in areas of the ship with little interaction with guests. The infected employee was last on board the ship on June 24.

All associated work areas have been sanitized thoroughly. Other staff members that had close working contact with the affected employee have been quarantined for 14 days in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

The museum reports that the safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers remains our highest priority. It will will continue to practice frequent and comprehensive disinfecting procedures in all common areas, and hand sanitizing stations are readily available throughout the museum.
