CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas State Aquarium is scaling back its operations because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Coastal Bend. Beginning Friday, it will voluntarily reduce its visitor capacity to 25%.

The aquarium was operating at 50% since it reopened in late May after an 8 week shut-down.

The reduced capacity will run through July 17.

Aquarium officials says July is their busiest month, but they felt reducing capacity is the right move to keep visitor's safe.
