CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas National Guard is launching a disinfection mission for nursing facilities.
The mission is to help limit the spread of COVID-19. The disinfection teams will be formed in coordination with Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
In a news relase from Gov. Abbott's office, he states, "The Texas National Guard plays a crucial role in our ongoing response to COVID-19, and I am grateful for their work to address the unique challenges our nursing homes face during this pandemic."
Six teams have already been mobilized to nursing facilities across the state with more coming online.
