CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you were out and about in public today, you may have noticed a lot more people are wearing face masks or a face cover.
Gov. Greg Abbott issued a statewide mandatory mask order Thursday that went into effect Friday. The order is in response to the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases, and states everyone must wear a mask while out in public.
The order also gives city and county officials the authority to ban outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people.
