CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Every student who makes it to that final year of high school usually has a big celebration to honor their accomplishment.

But the Class of 2020 is a distinctive one, which because of the changes the COVID-19 pandemic has caused, won’t be enjoying the typical ‘end-of-the-year’ senior perks.

“They’ve missed out on a lot of things and it's their graduating year,” said Gabriela Roulston, parent of a high school senior. “They’re never gonna go back and redo, or have these memories.”

But to try and make up for a fraction of the recognition they’re missing out on, London ISD parents are erecting a display of giant senior pictures to share with anyone who drives past London High School.

“To be able to drive by the school and see that the parents and the school still cares about us its awesome,” said high school senior Cameron Roulston.

Roulston has adjusted to the new norm of virtual school, but he’s still wrapping his head around never getting to see his friends in the school hallways again.

“I really miss being able to coming to school and being able to laugh and joke everyday,” said Roulston.

Sixty-one senior posters now garnish the front lawn of the high school to remind any one who drives by of the 2020 graduating class; that like many of us in the community, missed out on memories for the sake of safety and health.

To see the display you can drive down FM 43, the display is located along the front of London High School.
