CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — County officials, city officials and representatives from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi held a joint news conference about a "Task Force" team project to create prediction modeling for the local effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, Mayor Joe McComb, and City Manager Peter Zanoni were joined by Dr. Philippe Tissot and Dr. Christopher Bird from the TAMUCC Modeling Task Force Team.
According to a press release from the city, the goal is to predict the number of cases in the Coastal Bend and impact on local hospitals depending on mitigation measures, how well they are followed, and the characteristics of our local population.
