The U.S. Postal Service confirmed that an employee at the Lamar Park Post Office tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement sent to KRIS 6 News on Thursday, the United States Postal Service said the Nueces County Public Health District confirmed the positive test result. The Postal Service said it believes risk to employees at that location is low, but it will keep employees apprised as new information and guidance becomes available.

For privacy concerns and legal reasons, the Postal Service is not disclosing the medical condition of the employee or any other details.

The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority. To ensure the health of our employees, we are continuing to follow recommended guidance and strategies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
