CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The Internal Revenue Service wants to remind people to avoid scams related to those economic payments.

The IRS says scammers will try to steal your personal information and money.

The IRS says they will never call, text, email or contact you on social media and they'll never ask for personal or bank account information.

Kathy Enstrom, with the IRS, says, "Do not give out personal information even if someone claims its necessary to get the check. Because that's a scam."

Also, watch out for emails with attachments or links claiming to have special information about economic impact payments or refunds.
