CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Graduating seniors at Flour Bluff High School never returned to class after spring break.

But all their accomplishments now are proudly displayed along Waldron Road.

There are some 340 signs posted in front of the high school honoring 2020 graduates.

It’s all a part of the district’s "Operation Graduation,” designed to be a surprise for the seniors.

“Yes, it was a surprise,” Flour Bluff High School assistant principal Linda Melody said. “We didn’t announce it. Our signs came in and we just wanted to put them up and have everyone drive by and see it so.. we're excited.”

But word of the signs spread like wildfire and students arrived to take pictures while staff members were still putting them up.

The signs will be up for two weeks and then they'll be given to the graduates.
