CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Sunday is the start of Holy Week for most Christians, but area churches have suspended services because of the stay at home order and social distancing rules.
First United Methodist Church are still planning to celebrate palm Sunday and stay within the rules.
They will have a drive-thru palm branch distribution followed by palm parade through their main parking lot near Furman and Water Street.
Nickia Larsen says, "They'll stay in vehicles the whole time, and they'll be driving through the parking lot honking and cheering celebrating the start of our holy week."
First United Methodist Church says they only have enough palm branches for it's members but others can celebrate Palm Sunday by simply putting a branch on their door or window.
