CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The CPAP and BIPAP machine collection was a success.

Back in April, the Nueces County Public Health District and Del Mar College joined forces to hold a collection campaign.

They were asking people in the community to donate any unused machines.

CPAP and BIPAP machines are used to treat sleep apnea.

The purpose of collecting the machines was to convert them into ventilators which would be used on COVID-19 patients.

After holding several drives, Del Mar College collected 160 machines.

Students cleaned the machines and turned them over to the Nueces County Health Department.
