Gov. Greg Abbott has given the greenlight for school districts to resume in-person classes for summer school, which begin in June.
CCISD, however, said it will continue to hold virtual classrooms for now.
CCISD spokeswoman Leanne Libby said the district will continue to monitor the situation, and will make a determination regarding July instruction at a later date.
The CDC also released guidelines for in-person classes as states move to ease COVID-19 restrictions.
Thoes recommendations include spacing out desks at least 6 feet apart; students and teachers using masks when possible; no field trips; closing cafeterias and having students eat in the classroom; and staggering arrival and drop-off times.
