CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) has adjusted their curbside meal pickup plan.

"As Corpus Christi ISD works to maximize employee safety while continuing to provide meals to area children, curbside service at the district’s 17 school sites will change from daily service to three times weekly," said CCISD in a post.

Instead of daily weekday service, the days will be reduced to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..

While supplies last, children 18 and under will receive breakfast and lunch for two days on Mondays and Wednesdays. One breakfast and one lunch per child will be provided on Fridays.

Children are not required to be CCISD students to receive free meals.

The changes begin Monday, April 27.
