Corpus Christi Independent School District announced one of its employees has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Due to HIPAA medical privacy rules, no more information was given.
The employee was tested March 17, received the result of their test Tuesday, and the result was reported by the district Wednesday.
The employee reportedly is recovering at home.
CCISD students have not attended school on its campuses since March 6. The district said the Corpus Christi-Nueces Co. Public Health Department believes CCISD's exposure is limited to just the patient in this case.
