CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Independent School District confirmed Thursday that 25 employees from across the district have tested positive for COVID-19.
District staff followed pandemic protocol to clean affected areas and notify possibly infected people.
"Upon each confirmation, district staff immediately notified those who may have come into contact with the respective employees while on district property," said a release from the district. "CCISD continues to limit the number of employees returning to onsite work, asking others to follow the remote-work procedures implemented from late March through early June."
Face coverings are also mandated due to the statewide order.
The start of the districts 2020-2021 school year is expected to begin remotely on Aug 13 and optional in-person learning on Sept 7, according to a release from CCISD.
