CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, local car dealerships are adjusting to new norms and regulations. This could change the way on how you purchase your new vehicle.

Workers with Love Pre-Owned Auto Center say they had to come up with a game plan when it came down to taking preventive measures. The main priority was so staff can keep everyone safe. The dealership has set up sanitation stations all throughout the building. They have also installed several protective shields, and vigilantly deep clean inside their vehicles every day.

“Right when the vehicle comes back, we’ll have our sales department turn it back to our service department for a sanitizing, it takes them about 30 minutes we spray the entire vehicle then we seal it up,” says Love Auto Center Director of Operations Shane Luna.

Luna says their automotive business is not only adjusting to these new regulations, but the mission is new ways when it comes to fit customer needs. This includes a worker not having to be present during a test drive due to social distancing.

“It’s a little more risk, but now we’re taking a little more of those risk now because we don’t want to force a customer to have to drive next to us in the car so sometimes that’s what they want so we accommodate with that,” says Luna.

The essential business says they’ve had a lot on their plate with helping car buyers and managing sales.

“Over the past three months we’ve seen an increase in sales,” says Luna.

Car professionals say they realize the impacts of the health crisis especially the financial woes.

“We can’t make it free, but we can make it cheaper and we can make a delay in time to the payments start that’s helped a lot of people get through this we believe,” says Luna.
