CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Bee County has updated its COVID-19 numbers.

Bee County said it has eight total cases as of Wednesday -- five cases remain active while three have been released from quarantine.

Bee Co. last updated its COVID-19 case numbers May 8, when a sixth case was reported. That case later was re-assigned to Live Oak Co., because that is where that person resides.

A new sixth case, and a seventh, were reported on Tuesday. The county and Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed Bee County's eighth case on Wednesday.

Of the eighth total cases, five are considered community spread, one is travel related, and two are under pending investigation.
