CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another shipment of the anti-viral drug remdesivir is on its way to the Coastal Bend.
The Texas Department of State Health Services is sending two cases of the drug to Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
The medication is used to speed up the recovery time of hospitalized COVID-19 patients. However, there is a limited supply of the drug, so it is prioritized for use on severely ill patients.
Spohn Shoreline received another case of remdesivir earlier this month.
