CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Daily weekday briefings from local officials to resume Monday.

The weekday daily briefings regarding the local effects of COVID-19 started at the beginning of the pandemic and were stopped recently. Now the city has announced the return on June 29.

The changes come after Nueces County reported 5 straight days of triple-digit COVID-19 case numbers.

The conferences will be held Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. and are not open to the public. A single representative from each news outlet is allowed in the building. The conferences will also be live-streamed.

City Manager Peter Zanoni and Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez will lead Monday's conference with possible appearances from Mayor Joe McComb and Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales.
