CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Blood Center says so far, nineteen people who have recovered from COVID-19 have donated their plasma.
A convalescent plasma donation can help people who are critical and still fighting COVID-19.
There is no approved treatment for the Coronavirus, but some information suggests that convalescent plasma could help some patients recover from the virus.
Although 19 people seems like a good number, the Coastal Bend Blood Center says they’ve seen a drop in donations.
The Center is asking anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 to contact the Coastal Bend Blood Center to find out if they meet the criteria to become a donor.
