ROCKPORT, Texas — Workers with the Aransas County Animal Control say upgrades will contain a better environment for those who decide to stop by and adopt.

Staff also says this can help animal rescue groups conduct pet adoptions.

Animal rescue groups like Cat Tails and Another Chance rescue say they work closely with the shelter to get their animals adopted.

Renovations to the building include new kennels for the animals, new paint, and tools for these rescue groups.

“Just the physical environment as well as well the mental environment, which is the staff affects anybody who comes here and it gives them a much more positive attitude and I think it will change the whole image of animal control which reflects all of us as rescues,” says President Cat Tail Rescue Gayly Opem.
