BANQUETE, Texas — Many area schools will be resuming classes after addressing several cases of flu.

Students will be returning to classes over at Banquete ISD this Monday.

The district had to close its schools because a flu outbreak caused a drop in attendance.

The school shut down Wednesday.

A company was hired to sanitize all classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and shared spaces.

Students will not have to make up the days missed.

Another district impacted by the flu is San Diego.

All its campuses closed at last Friday and will re-open Monday.

The superintendent says a few weeks ago 21 students came to school with flu-like symptoms.

In order to take a proactive approach, the district closed the school for one day for cleaning.
