CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Independent School District is selling many of its extra school items on auction starting Wednesday.

District officials tell us that with the many different bonds, and new schools opening and old schools closing,

The CCISD warehouse has accumulated a large inventory of classroom items.

From classroom chairs to musical instruments like violins and pianos.

CCISD says they accumulate about 50 items every week.

Although all of the money goes back into the district, they typically only make about $300 from each auction.

“We have viewing dates so you can come look at the items, and decide which items you want to bid on, and we're pretty clear on the descriptions whether it's broken or not working,” said Arnulfo Gonzalez, the director of purchasing and distribution for CCISD. “We typically say that so, but it does help if you actually come look at the items.”

The auction will be done online and begins this Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.

There will be a few other auctions in the next few months.

CCISD tells us the next auction they will have a surplus of weight equipment.

You can find the link to the online auction on the homepage of CCISD’s website.
