CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Del Mar Cosmetology School is giving parents a break with their annual "Cuts for Kids" free haircut invitation.

"To be able to come in and get a haircut with no worries, that's everything" Lagatria Mosley said about getting

These cosmetology students help as many as 200 kids every year, and the parents are more than grateful.

"These parents are dealing with back to school costs, so I hope this helps them and helps the community," said Lissa Gonzalez, Del Mar Cosmetology Instructor. "We have parents that will bring in eight or nine kids."

Some children as young as 5 are trimmed up. All are welcome.

And besides that, some kids are even coming in to give back to their community.

Cassiana Garcia, 10, told her mom she wanted more than a haircut. She wanted to donate her hair in hopes of making another kid happy.

"I just cut it like this, so I could help some kids that don't have hair," Cassiana said, when asked about cutting off 10 inches of her hair.

While Cuts for Kids' aim is simply to give back to the community, some students also leave inspired to do the same for others.
